This Privacy Policy explains how The Sorskod LLC, a Maryland registered company, handles information in connection with the Far Enough mobile application, website, and related services.
Far Enough is designed with a local-first data model. The app does not require user accounts, logins, user profiles, analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or tracking SDKs.
Boat, trip, refuel, and float-plan data are stored locally on your device unless you choose to share that information using a device feature or external service. The Sorskod LLC does not operate a user-account system for the app and does not maintain server-side user profiles.
The app may store information locally on your device, including vessel information, engine information, tank capacity, route information, speed, trip plans, refuel entries, float-plan details, app settings, and your acknowledgement of the first-run disclaimer.
The Sorskod LLC does not receive this locally stored information unless you choose to share it through a feature outside the app or unless future features expressly disclose otherwise.
Certain features require limited technical information to leave your device. This may include map areas, coordinates, search text, IP addresses, device request information, or technical request metadata needed to deliver the requested feature.
Chart tile requests may reach The Sorskod LLC’s servers and Cloudflare because chart tiles are served from The Sorskod LLC’s infrastructure through Cloudflare CDN.
Weather requests may route through The Sorskod LLC’s Cloudflare proxy. The proxy may relay a coarsened coordinate to Open-Meteo to obtain weather information.
Place-search and marina-search requests may route through The Sorskod LLC’s server-side endpoint backed by a self-hosted geocoder using Photon software on OpenStreetMap data. The geocoder is not intended to be publicly exposed as a third-party endpoint.
The app does not use these requests to create user accounts, user profiles, behavioral advertising profiles, or tracking profiles.
The app may use location information to provide app functionality, including map context, weather estimates, trip planning, route planning, or related features.
The app does not use location for background tracking or behavioral advertising. Location-related requests may still involve technical processing by The Sorskod LLC, Cloudflare, or Open-Meteo as described in this Policy.
Purchases are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play, depending on where you purchased the app. The Sorskod LLC does not receive or store your full credit-card number, payment-card information, or app-store billing credentials.
Payment processing, refunds, billing disputes, and related transaction data are handled under the applicable app store’s terms and privacy policy.
The app does not use analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, tracking SDKs, or behavioral advertising tools. The Sorskod LLC does not sell user data and does not use app data for behavioral advertising.
The app may use infrastructure providers and data sources to provide requested features. These may include Cloudflare for delivery, proxying, and related infrastructure; Open-Meteo for weather information; NOAA-derived chart data served from The Sorskod LLC’s infrastructure; and OpenStreetMap-based data through a self-hosted Photon geocoder.
These providers or data sources may process only the information necessary for the requested feature, such as technical request data, map area, search text, IP address, or coarsened coordinate.
Place-search results may be based on OpenStreetMap data. OpenStreetMap and its contributors are credited as required by applicable OpenStreetMap attribution requirements. Attribution should be made available in the app, website, legal pages, or other reasonably accessible location.
The Sorskod LLC does not sell user data. The Sorskod LLC does not share user data for behavioral advertising.
Limited information may be processed by service providers or data sources as necessary to provide requested app features, maintain security, prevent abuse, comply with law, or protect rights and safety.
Information stored locally on your device remains on your device unless you delete it, uninstall the app, reset the app, or share it through another service.
Technical server logs, if maintained, should be retained only for a limited period reasonably necessary for security, troubleshooting, abuse prevention, infrastructure operation, or legal compliance.
The app is intended for users who are at least 18 years old. The app is not directed to children under 13, and The Sorskod LLC does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If The Sorskod LLC learns that it has collected personal information from a child under 13, it will take reasonable steps to delete that information, subject to applicable law.
Depending on where you reside, you may have rights under privacy laws, including the right to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection, or information about how personal data is processed.
Because Far Enough does not use accounts or server-side user profiles, The Sorskod LLC may not be able to identify a particular user from locally stored app data. Privacy requests may be limited where The Sorskod LLC cannot reasonably verify the requesting user or locate responsive server-side information.
California residents may have rights under California privacy laws. The Sorskod LLC does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are commonly used in California privacy law.
EU, EEA, and UK residents should be aware that limited technical information, including IP addresses, coordinates, map areas, or search text, may be processed in connection with app features and may be transferred or processed outside the user’s jurisdiction by service providers or infrastructure providers.
The Sorskod LLC uses reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect app-related systems. However, no app, device, network, server, or transmission method is completely secure. Users are responsible for securing their own devices, operating systems, networks, and app-store accounts.
The Sorskod LLC may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated versions may be posted on the website, in the app, or otherwise made available. Continued use of the app after an updated Privacy Policy is made available means you acknowledge the updated Policy.
